The company «Ekoten» in collaboration with the Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov has implemented a project to create specialized compression knitwear for patients with lower limb amputations. The development is a sock without a heel with a precisely calibrated pressure gradient. The design provides 100% compression in the range of 23–32 mm Hg at the stump end with a gradual decrease in pressure towards the upper third of the thigh. This compression profile helps in the formation of the stump and reduces the risk of venous thromboembolic complications.
The product is designed for patients with amputations at various levels and does not require the involvement of medical personnel when putting it on. The design ensures even pressure distribution, reduces swelling, and contributes to the formation of a properly shaped stump, increasing comfort during the rehabilitation period.
The receipt of the patent confirms the scientific novelty of the solution and solidifies the results of the collaboration between «Ekoten» and the Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov in the field of medical rehabilitation and prosthetics.
